Default '37-38 crankshaft ID

Need help identifying '37-38 crankshafts. If I understand it correctly, those year shafts were lighter for some reason, and sought after by roundy round builders for their lightness. I think I have some, but do not know how to id them. Are they marked 68-6303-A or some other number. Or is it all just a myth ?

36 LB, 37, and 38 cranks are the same. I doubt they were in high demand. The main bearings are smaller diameter than the 39-53 cranks and therefore don't bolt directly into any 239 cube (3 3/16 bore) blocks.

As stock, they are no better than any other stock cranks of any year for circle racing other than the later Merc 4 inch crank.
