Default Banjo Rear Gear Manufacturers

I'm looking for suggestions of where to buy 3.25 Gears for my 1939 1/2 ton pickup. Is there any that have bad reviews.
Thanks for any help,
Dan

There are several sources for those conversions. C&G (800-266-0470) shows the 3:25
ring and pinion set for 35-41 pickup as 48-4209-F6 6 spine type.

I bought mine from Speedway. They were excellent.

Most of them likely come from the same source. There were some Italian made one some years back that had the pinion quill manufactured too large a diameter to go through the bearing support bore. Some grinding was necessary to make those work. There were more recent ones that had too large a journal surface but we are talking only about .001" or a bit more too large.

I haven't heard any one complaining about gear sets for quite a while. Most go for the 3.54:1 sets. 3.25:1 is kind of tall for a pickup. It would be hard to get it going with a load on board.

I bought a set of 3.25s from Speedway. They are made by Motive Gear and very good quality. As mentioned I had to polish the first bearing part of the pinion so the bearing would slide to set preload. I think most vendors carry this brand.

I purchased mine from Speedway. Speedway still lists their gear sets as Getz brand?

They still list them that way but they are made by Motive Gear. There have been discussions on the HAMB about this.
