Default Model A speedometer to 40 torque tube

Im hoping someone can give me some advice. Id like to purchase an original oval model A speedometer and hook it up to my turtle on my 40 ford torque tube. Just wanting to know if this can be done or if the speedo only works with model A torque tube outputs?

thanks chris.

Use the turtle for a Model A with an early speedometer. It will bolt to your '40 torque tube.

You can also change the shaft in the '40 turtle to the early Model A shaft which is available from the Model A parts suppliers.

Thanks for the reply, would the model A turtle not have the wrongs gear for my rear end ratio?

I run such a combo but only had to connect my A's speedo cable to the stock '46 torque tube. There were two different cables for the A, different on the torque tube end. The gear in the turtle needs to match the rear end ratio, most are 3.78:1, on A's and V8's.
