How can you make a 6 volt model a generator charge a 12 volt battery?
I am not changing to 12 volts, just wondering how it can be done.

If your gen is a 3 brush it will charge 12 volts. First install 12 volt battery then Just adjust the 3 rd brush to amps you need. I go around 8 amps for most daytime use . if you set it too high you will burn up gen. DONT FORGET TO CHANGE BULBS
also this will work + or - ground

You need roughly 14.2-14.5 volts to properly charge a 12 volt battery. So set the 3rd brush using a volt meter. Too much voltage will cook the battery (and likely the generator, too) while with too little voltage the battery will never receive a full charge and its life will also be shortened.
