I'm not sure about "best" color match wise, but for best quality paint I like Bill Hirsch. I prefer the brush-on, really flows out good.

I agree with JSeery. I have used Hirsch paint for years on my '41. It is the best.

If you use Hirsch (which I also recommend) follow the directions and the tips sheet to the T. Recoat too early and it will bubble up on you. On the block foam brush is fine, sheet metal I would spray. Touch up with small artist brush.

I prefer the stuff Roy Nacewicz sold. Mike Driskell now sells it. If you desire accuracy in color, this is the best there is.
Yep, Hirsch paint flows and adheres well but it is not correct in shade.

I used Roy's paint on an early V8 trans case a couple of years ago. It was a much darker than I expected and much darker than I'd seen on any of the restored cars on the concourse field. When I bought the paint from Roy, he had an interesting story about how he came up with the color. Unfortunately, I never got back to him to resolve the color question. Maybe I got a bad batch.
