Default Need Info on Rear Bumper Flag Mount

I want to put a larger flag on my rear bumper than the small type which I have on the front. The suppliers sell a clamp-on mount that looks like a pipe with a spring loaded clamp, but they don't give any info on it except length of flag pole that goes with it. I want to put at least a 4' pole and larger flag than the one that comes with the mount. I would like to know the diameter of the pipe hole and the length of the pipe before I order one that will not meet my needs. The suppliers will not answer my e-mails. Can anyone who has one of these mounts help me with that info? Thanks all.

Those are for small flags, probably have to rig your own. If you have a patriot guard unit around you they put big flags on their motorcycles for veteran funerals. They may have a good mount.

Why don't you try calling them on telephone! If they think you’re going to fabricate your own they may not want to assist! That’s why no email response likely!!

I used 2 small hose clamps to secure a large flag to my rear bumper. I use the outer, passenger side bolt that connects the two bumper pieces and tightened the pole to that upright piece. It held secure for the entire, about an hour, Veterans Day Parade. Cheap, easy and temporary.

Call Wagner Products in St Louis (314) 966-4444. They make a flag holder for the Model A that will hold anything you want on it, multiple flags as well.

This is my pickup in an impromptu July 4th parade this past summer.

With a four foot pole, I would think that would put an awful lot of torsion on the bumper. I would worry about damaging it. I would want to attach it something more secure, like rear-mount spare tire.

I would like to see your final set up.

Thanks to all. I want a flag just like CarlG's picture. I'll try Wagner Products or make it myself. Will only be used at parade speeds. Hose clamps sound easiest.

I wasn’t worried about the bumper because I was driving at “parade” speed. My biggest concern was my clutch.

I'm sure the Model AQ bumper and it's brackets will support a flag on a 4 foot pole. You should be able to stand on your bumper. JMO

At any speed however if using an aluminum pole, the pole most likely bend in half, better to use a wood pole.

I use zip ties for my flags....unobtrusive and easily removed.
