I can see what looks like an old car back there in line.

It'd be nice if you take pictures across the area, stuff you think is boring. I'd like to think I'd drive across Australia in a flathead. But to be realistic, it's not something I'll ever do.

Would be great to see.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone. Lawrie, you are very generous to let us tag along. To you it's probably just another drive. But I'm really enjoying what you share.

Did I find it?

Fuel at Ayer rock was 2.12 a litre, half way there was 2.06,but we couldn’t make it on one fill up.
Speed limit out here is 130,police are at the bottle shops, and the local speedway track,we won’t be able to go to the speedway as we have some other stuff on ,
Did a grease on the 33 today, left rear shock arm was broken,so took it off!also fuel line from the pump to the tank line was cracked,so replaced it,
We have an easy few days and will maybe go out for a look at the east ,ackdonald ranges, about a 250klm round trip,

Brilliant, thanks for sharing! Folks here don't generally appreciate how far Uluru is from Alice. I wonder how long since a 33 was at the rock.

We had the first problem with the 33 this. Morning!it made a squeaking noise from the front of the engine on start up,just at idle, found the new front distributor bush I had fitted was too tight on the shaft and had seized to the shaft and was turning in the housing,no drama ,as I had the spare dist in the tool box all set up,an easy 20 min job. So now back to a quiet engine,
We went out in the bush today about 125 ks each way, great scenery,
We are here in Alice for a huge car event ( summer nats): lots of cars are now in the c/ park!so far ours is the only flathead
Also we went to the reptile park!just to remind us,in the top 20 most venomous snakes in the world!18 live here,
Lawrie

I drove a trailer truck for a lot of years but never multiple trailers. The truck in your picture is called a “road train”...right?......Mark
It must take quite a motor to get all that moving!!

At least 3 refineries within 30 miles, and 87 costs $3.55.9, go figure.
