Re: engine with oil pan off
Frank,
There are hundreds of good, knowledgeable, people on this site trying to be helpful. If one person insulted you ignore them. There was one guy on one of your earlier posts that was a real turkey. Most of us could see him for what he was. What happened? I look forward to your return. Charlie Stephens |

Re: engine with oil pan off
As a recent member I can say that I have gleaned valuable information about my Model A. This forum is a great service for us novices.
As with any of these internet forums, you have the people who just can't resist the smart A$$ comments, jokes and the "know it all" attitude. For the most part I just read the posts, I usually resist making comments to avoid the drama. Without the face to face contact, people are inclined to make insensitive comments. Sort of like the wimpy guy driving aggressively in his 4000 pound vehicle. I guess we are not going to change people at all. Maybe we have to have a little thicker skin and realize that those rude people probably know less than we do. |

Frank,
I hope you ignore the few who God has yet to bless with kindness and manners. I hope you turn the other cheek and give this forum another try... This good here is 99% of the users if not more...

Why? I am lost. Got to filter out those who disrespect. It's their problem.

Re: engine with oil pan off
Frank, I'm new to the forum also, but there are always the few that cause trouble but the info on the forum is certainly worth listening to the good guys. I've been into Model A's for over 30 years and have received great info especially one problem I was having with my S/W Town Sedan front door lock. Never would have solved the problem if someone else didn't bring it up on the forum. That's why I'm here.

Re: engine with oil pan off
Certainly agree with all the other comments. I recently purchased an A, knew nothing about Model As or really any car for that matter, basically went into the whole process blindly. I know from the beginning of my posts up to this point there are those who've read my questions and thought "geez what a dumbass" and moved on but then to my relief there are some who always respond and offer suggestions, ideas, and constructive comments. I am sometimes reluctant to post questions due to my own embarrassment but I forge ahead knowing I can count on those who may snicker but still pull through for me. And to my surprise there are even a few who PM and/or email me because they sincerely want to help or at least keep me from failure. To those I want to sincerely thank you and to the others who have shaken their head and moved on I'm sorry but you probably lost out on making a new friend but at the very least you've lost out on the satisfaction of turning a good deed and helping someone in need.

Re: engine with oil pan off
It's sad that it comes to this. I am a very infrequent poster since I have yet top find an issue that I have had that isn't already covered by someone else but if something does come up I will be sure to come here first. There are a lot of posters whose opinions and knowledge and wit I value when I see it. Kudos to them.
AS for others who seem to want to complain about something that is posted by someone who is new to the hobby. If you see something that doesn't belong on the site use the report button and let the administrators deal with it. |

Re: engine with oil pan off
Frank, I will look for your posts again real soon. Was just reading the thread on poor engine paint matching. Each of us can make this a useful forum, with out us it would suffer. Take five.

Re: engine with oil pan off
Frank,
There are lots of people here who have assumed you are peed off by some illconsidered comments to one of your posts. Maybe that is why you are peed off but you don't say why this is your last post. Is it ill health? I and I expect everybody here wish you well. Is it that you are leaving the movement? Sold you car/s? Sorry to hear that. You don't have to own one to enjoy them. Is it a change of circumstance? Hope all works out well for you. Something else? Please let us know.

Actually, it was not his last post. He had three more posts in the 10 minutes after this one.
Liar liar pants on fire? I certainly hope not either. Joe K
