Default Crab dist ID

Hey guys....

I have this distributor and Im not sure which year it is. It has the bail attached.

New to the crab stuff so any input as to which cap & rotor it requires would be much appreciated thanks !!

Apologies the pic is'nt more clear.

Assuming it came from the factory with the bail, it is a 46-48, which takes a two piece "rabbits ear" cap.

You can buy an inexpensive kit to delete the bail and fit spring clips to use the more popular 41 style "crab" cap. The crab uses a different rotor than the later rabbits ear two piece cap.

So just get a cap and rotor for a 41 and the spring clip kit and you're good to go.

Mart.

Edit: Read Macs note below - I goofed on the years!

Mart, he'll want to order the 42-44 crab parts. If he tells his parts vendor that it's a 1941 he'll end up with the very different 37-41 parts. Your advice was otherwise good.
