Default Speedometer Cable lube

What do you lubricate your speedometer cable with?

They do have Speedometer cable lube in most auto part houses.

i use a mixture of gear lube and stp 50 50, it stays on the cable because of the stp and wont let it creep up the cable and get in the speedo head

The stuff the A parts houses sell is a graphite oil. I used it on mine and everything is good. Only 1000 miles though.

Be careful with the stuff in the tube-it does stain wool upholstery.
