inside of pickup cab
My '30 pickup currently has four carriage bolts across the back wall, and a wooden rail inside to which the bolts attach. My understanding is that the cab was found down in a farmer's hollow at the back of the farm before restoration, and the back wall was caved in. When it was restored, the carriage bolts were attached to the wooden rail on the back wall inside the cab, above the seat.
I think maybe I've seen that wooden rail used in A pickups before, but not totally sure. Did Ford use these in their pickups? Or could this just be for support of the cab wall, that was put in by the previous owner? |

Re: inside of pickup cab
Here is a photo of my 31 pickup (prior to restoration) showing the wood across the back of the cab. I am guessing that this is what you are talking about. It is standard from the Ford factory. Hope this helps.

Re: inside of pickup cab
Yes they used a wood rail and it had wood strips that went done to the seat frame , to suport the seat back.

Re: inside of pickup cab
The clips to hold the seat spring are welded to the back of my cab just below the horizontal piece of wood

Re: inside of pickup cab
Not sure they were all the same. Mine has them on the bottom of the up rights. You can see them in the picture. They are real clear if you enlarge the picture.
