Default Rhinebeck

Anyone going? This is the "Official Season Opener" in our house. A good sized swap meet that takes a few hours to cover. This year we are going tomorrow due to a conflict Sunday. The show tomorrow is hot rods, with antiques on Sunday, lots of Model As present every year.

I think/hope most vendors are there from this afternoon on. Lot's of "A", some "T" and a lot of gas and oil so hope to bring home some goodies.

I'll be there to morrow --it takes more than a soggy day to keep me away from a swap meet.

Always the first weekend in May I believe Paul. This, Klingberg, Belltown, Lime Rock Vintage festival (although not so much for the A & T cars) and Hershey are all pretty much the same weekend each year, and how I like to plan the rest of my year around!!

I'll be the guy with the yellow milk crate in the 3 wheel cart looking for stuff in the swap meet. I missed the very first Rhinebeck swap meet but have hit every one since. Taking the wife's new car and lots of shipping blankets to protect the new found parts. Bob

Gollleeee.......................How did I mess up?
Mother's Day week end ! ! I've "rearranged" my priorities and will be leaving before dawn tomorrow. Hopefully the fire truck will be parked again near where the cars enter the field. I'll be there for a while and then wander a bit.
Hopefully the fields aren't too soggy and the rain holds off.

What is the SUNDAY show like? I've never gone back to see if I'm missing anything or not. If it was made after 1942 I don't care to see it. Bob

The Sunday show has about 800 cars ranging from the teens to the 70's. Last year there were 55 model a fords.

We'll be there Sunday, and at the Beardsley show the following Saturday. I'm continuing my search for a really nice Model A, only now it will have to be a "Tudor". In the past month I've had to pass on a beautiful '29 Roadster and an absolutely gorgeous '30 Deluxe Coupe for lack of adequate leg room. If I didn't experience it myself I wouldn't have believed these cars have so much less legroom than my somewhat tight but totally drivable '26 Roadster. Sorry, I didn't intend to hijack the thread.

Yep, and usually some Ts as well. John I bought a couple small things from you a couple years ago, I think, for our T speedster. Not too many guys selling T parts as I recall. Show draws a lot of cars including a decent prewar showing. Far enough from CT to see some different stuff. Saturday though, for us this year.

Bill Z, Tudor will help but check out a 30, 31 roadster also might be a bit better than the earlier cars.

Wish we could get to the cider mill, small but quality over quantity I think.

I spent about 3 1/2 hours walking thru the swap areas -- didn't see much in the way of Model A or Corvette parts. Still, it was worth the time (My automotive tastes are very eclectic!) It was rainy, early on but cleared off by 11.

Bill, 3 posts since 2011 - Where have you been hiding!

I am on Candlewood Lake in Danbury! I am probably only a few miles from you! If you stop by I can show you how I solved the leg room problem in my 29 tudor (I am 6' 1"). I am the newsletter editor for the Fairfield County A's region of the MAFCA. I can help you join (Which you should!) The club is a good source to find leads on local model A's for sale. I would also be glad to help when you are checking out an car you are interested in.
