Since I am just an "8BA Guy", I don't see what you are trying to communicate. Can you point out what's good (or bad) in the picture for the inexperienced? (I am still curious.)

Quite possibly illustrating how well the contacts line-up with "quality" points sets....the clue being "perfect world"! DD

Oh yeah, I get it now! But prior to your post, didn't have an inkling what it was all about.

Was meant as a example of a perfectly dresses point plate.

Clean blasted and painted with "trans star" black primer . Expensive paint but the best . I hate rust and dont want to ever see rust when returned for a tune up a few years later.

Points sets are CS47 the very best echlin has to offer and have spent some time in the marvel oil sauna wiped clean and Mobil One syn grease applied to the cam area in a manner to add lube to the polished cam area as they wear in .

All screws are discarded and stainless allens are used .

Drivers side point arm is bend for proper alignment and adjusting screws are loosed and Marvel is applied .

Nothing like the smell of Kroil and marvel Oil in the morning .

Is that better ?? rbg :>)

Thanks for the explanation. At first I thought it might be a problem with the points, the rubbing blocks look different from one another to me.

WELL the rest of the story wasnt as pretty , the inner snap rings were a bitch today and nothing fit properly. I guess it was my turn to get one of those , SO i dissasembled the unit and threw it on the bench covered with blue towel ,,, let it set for a couple days , went back out (sunday now) and redid the entire process and it worked jut fine , ran on tester boxed and will ship up tomorrow .......some days thats how it works , i am too old to fight one anymore ...........rbg :.)
