I'm also a fan of the Goodyears and metal stems. The look is great and the car does handle very well. Enjoy your new rubber!

Sounds like a good plan. But I can't help but wonder, how easy is it to get them out should you get a flat a need the spare?

The Goodyear tires were created to be as close to the original Model A era Goodyear as possible. The Firestone, while a quality tire, was manufactured to blur the line some and fit more than the Model A, that is why it is a little larger.

Reading the recent past topic on the model A tires less in quality, higher in price and minimal mileage expected. As was commented, I also only got 14,000 miles on a set of Firestone's and is considered good to get that much. I have a daily driver, literally. Which in your opinions should I get better mileage, the Firestone brand or the Goodyear. Can't trust the sale people behind the desk as their all good and expect high mileage and service. Goodyears are said to get a better handeling and longer service..but are almost 40 dollars more than the Firestone's. Less pavement contact but the tread does look better and possibly better grip on the road. Is the extra bucks really worth it? THANKS!
