Re: Still sober
Hi malpais; Pete's a friend of mine and meant what he wrote in a good way, it's just sometimes words read differently to some of us. Thanks, Craig.

Re: Still sober
It takes a big man to admit something has become a problem and
take action to rid his life and those around him of that. Congrats. |

Re: Still sober
Congrats and good luck!
Now if someone could just help me with this old Ford problem I seem to have. Out in the dirty driveway all day, up in the filthy garage all night. Always late for work, spending all my damn money on rusty parts and weird old tools...I'm sick! Actually- thanks to the hobby and the barn for keeping me off the mean streets of Boulder, I used to be in the bar all the time, now I'm too tired from wrenching' all day, best midlife crisis may family could ask for! |

Re: Still sober
Congrats Craig. The only way to quit is to admit to a problem and want to quit. Guys would be amazed to know how many members of the "Quitters Club" there are on the forum. One day at a time.

Re: Still sober
HOBBY = CAR'S & PEOPLE
In the past I have made a joke FACTS only the FACTS belong here. WELL it is a FACT what Craig has done is something to be very proud of. And as a Barn Famly (no I in family ) member, he is letting us know that for those of us that struggle in there own ways that it can be done 1 day at a time. Craig congratulations Spring is around the corner so take a ride to the local ( old terminology ) drive inn & have a soda for us well wishers. |

Re: Still sober
Congratulations to you, Craig! I can't imagine the struggle it's been for you but you've certainly earned the right to be very proud of yourself. You are an inspiration to so many!

Re: Still sober
It's off-topic but very relevant as some Ford Barners would not be enjoying the best things in life if they hadn't found a way to kick a destructive addiction. I know how difficult this can be - I quit drinking in 2001. Several of my former drinking buddies are dead from the same thing. Since then I've found the time to once again work on classic cars and my career is in high gear.
Some repro parts just don't fit or work right. Liver, brain, etc. Craig, thank you for sharing. Ken |
