Question 38' Inner Fender Don't Fit In Fenders???

Got back to this project after a long absence and have run into things not lining up. This is my 38' passenger fenders and inner fender.

Can anyone tell mewhat is wrong with this pictures? This has been a long project and it is possible that parts have been misplaced.

No matter where I move the inner fender the holes don't match the ones on the fender. And yes, the original dimple in the inner fender has been replaced with louvers. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I cannot tell for sure, but it looks like you may have a deluxe fender and a standard inner fender. A photo of the outside of the fender might help.

The photo of our fiberglass reproduction inner fenders might also help.

If they fit nicely just mark the existing holes and drill new holes in the inners to match. I like the louvers and don't know why Ford did away with them. Seems like they would add some much needed engine cooling.

Karl,

Thanks for your help, the car is a Deluxe Conv. Coupe so I know the fenders are Deluxe. Never thought there would be two different inner fenders but your never too old to learn.

John,

I didn't know until Karl at Westcott clued me in on there being two different inner fenders Deluxe & Standard. My fenders are Deluxe as this is a Conv. I have been working on for years and years. I too like the louvers and I had them made for these inner fenders and now can't use them.

Just about everything on the front sheetmetal is different between the standard and deluxe.
