Default Ford Barn button at MARC National Meet

I asked for and received permission from Ford Barn Support, to create a button with the Ford Barn Logo to be offered at the Marc National Meet that our Nickle "A" Region will be hosting in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in June. The purpose of the button is for folks that use this web-site to be recognized by others that also use this web-site. The cost will be $1.00 or less depending on our cost. I was told that this venture will be fine as long as it is not for profit.
Now I would like feed-back from people on this site. If you are going to be at the MARC meet in Oshkosh, will you purchase this pin? The response I get will determine how many of these pins that I will make, if any. Thanks. Don/WI ps:I am going to try to add "USER" at the bottom of the logo.

Just a thought, leave an area that someone could put their screen name if they so choose.

I really think that Just Like it's Pictured is best, no user, no name, etc. Wearing it would be evidence enough. (KISS)

I would surely like to wear one, but I can't go to Oshkosh.
Perhaps it should have "Fordbarn.Com" on it.
Looks like Fordbarn would publish these.

It looks like a good idea. I also think it would be a good idea to be able to get one or some to use in our local area. I think the idea of putting the user name on it or having a space for it is also a good idea. If the space is there, a person could put their name on it or not. I think the idea of a user name is good so that when you do wear it locally, other people in your club etc. would know you are on Ford Barn and recognize you(maybe this is good or bad).

Just my $0.02...

-- I like the basic idea

-- I like the idea to leave a space at the bottom for a user name to be added at the determination of the individual (I think a Sharpie would work)

-- I like the idea of www.fordbarn.com on it

-- Instead of "User" at the bottom (with it's inherent negative connotations), I'd suggest "Member" at the top...

I may not be able to make Oshkosh - but would still be interested in getting a couple of buttons (or stickers [hint, hint]; or both)...

Great idea!

To visualize...

I have often wondered why there is nothing available for sale from Fordbarn proper for us "stocker" or "traditional" guys. They have plenty of stuff over at The Jalopy Journal and for the H.A.M.B. forums. I buy one of their calenders every year, I have often thought about becoming an Alliance Member over at the HAMB just to get the discounts offered by some of the vendors (the Brassworks and Coker deals are worth it alone). I think that there are definitly enough of us folks over here on the Fordbarn that would buy a hat, shirt, calender or whatever to warrant a little bit of recognition from the administrators. There have to be enough of us between the model T, model A, early V-8 and late V-8 guys here to make something happen.

I WANT A FORDBARN T-SHIRT!!!!
(Or at least something cool to show my allegiance, like the button.)

Okay...what have we got here? Looks to me that Ford Barn needs a merchandise link where we can buy T-shirts, jacket patches, window decals, caps and lapel pins. I'm in! So where are the order blanks?

Maybe this wasn't the original direction that the site planned to travel but we are here now. The bell has rung. I personally can't fathom the hobby without Ford Barn. I'd be proud to advertise the site.

In my humble opinion, "It is a good thing." As Martha Stewart says.

Would be a wearer for both a button and bumper sticker.
Just post an email address and will send order.
This would give you an idea of how many. Price to be
determind later, unless you have that info now.

Thanks

After confering with Ford Barn Support it has been decided that I will only make these buttons available at the MARC National Meet at Oshkosh, Wisconsin in June. Ford Barn has seen the desire for products in this thread and they indicated to me that they will be looking at this. Here is a quote from their answer to me. "I'll get around to doing these things eventually. Promise." Thanks for your understanding. Don/WI

Not to speak for Don who came up with the good idea, but in all fairness, I don't think he intended in having to deal with mailing all over the world and numerous trips to the post office for a non-profit venture. Offering these at a meet to which he is close to, seems reasonable.

It would be up to Fordbarn if they wished to sell merchandise, imo. Perhaps they will in the future.

Well with the upcoming meet in Chickasha I thought I would whip up this sample. I had some left over button blanks from some event. I think it's a pretty good example of what could be done. I don't put a lot of stickers on my car but a t-shirt or cap would be nice to have.

I also agree that buttons only available at the meet (or at any meet) is the easiest for the one making the buttons.

Okay, here we go again. Now we know the pins will only be available at the MARC National Meet in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in June. Some of you indicated that you WILL be at the MARC meet and want a pin. Some of you indicated that you want a pin but did not say if you will be at the MARC meet. If you want one or more pins (indicate how many) and you will be at the MARC Meet in Oshkosh, please post again so I can make the required quantity of pins to satisfy everyone. I appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter. Thanks. Don/WI

So, how about if a FordBarner who will be there PM's a Fordbarner who won't be there and gets him/her a button. Arrange your own terms, if it was me,I'd do it at cost. But, I think that button needs a Model A on it.

According to the responses above, I have determined that there are 32 buttons tentatively spoken for if I read between the lines a bit. At this point I will be making 50 buttons and when they are gone, no more will be available from me. They will be at the registration area at the MARC National Meet in Oshkosh and will be $1.50 each. If anyone else wants one, now is the time to let me know in case I need to make more. If you know your registration number for the meet, include it with your request. Thanks. Don/WI

How about instead of users name put forum a member uses (T)(A) (V8) (HOTROD) or a combination if they use more then one. Then if people see what forum you use they could ask your user name. A lot of people are talking about to much shipping. Why not have your local club make up and order and send it in?

I've already ordered two in March. My registration # is 88.

If you end up with extra, I will purchase more after everyone else has had a chance.

As I have stated before, the Ford Barn has requested that I not offer these buttons other than at the Nickle "A" Regions MARC National Meet in Oshkosh in June. If you are coming I will have them for you or if you know someone that is attending you could ask them to pick some up for you. I don't like to disapoint but I enjoy this site too much to be kicked off or banned. Don/WI

Here is a "T" shirt that was offered by the old original FORDBARN. I'm sure that these would still sell today. They have a pocket in front.

I would also like a hat pin as shown, and the idea of a window decal for the car is great . I won't be at the meet, but would be interested in an old fashioned mailed version. Thnks, Jim.

Yep, you are correct. But I sure do not expect a 3 year old post to suddenly show up as though it is new. I guess my "newbie" status is showing..... though I still think something like a pin , shirt, hat, decal would be a cool thing to have and promote not only the site but personal contact. JMHO
Thanks Blessyouboys for pointing out the age and Ed for confirming.

The display order of the threads is the latest date of the posts in the thread, not the earliest date of any post in the thread. That's why when a post is made the thread goes to the top of the list.
