Another "door box" mystery part
The pictured parts were also found in my '40 door box parts but I have no idea at this time what they are for. Keep in mind I took this car apart over 30 years ago!
My '40 was not original when i bought it (wrong seats, '49 Merc dash, Pontiac V8, etc) so they may not be '40 Ford. Anybody know? Last edited by V8 Bob; 04-16-2020 at 04:39 PM. |

Re: Another "door box" mystery part
If I had to guess I would say it is part of the door handle mechanism.

Re: Another "door box" mystery part
I've had several '40s and never saw that part as belonging in the door handle mechanism.

Re: Another "door box" mystery part
They are very light weight in construction/design and adjustable with the rod on the right threaded into the coupler. I just wanted to make sure they were not important or needed during the restoration. Thanks for the reply's.

They look like 65/66 Mustang seat track adjuster to me too.
