Have you tried sucking up some MMO or other light oil into the motor? Somewhere someone has a how to clip on servicing the motor! :-( CRS

Another quote to live by...

"If you have not done a jump from a CH47 Chinook while hovering ...

Check with someone who has done it and survived"

1968 at AnKhe Vietnam. The 173rd Airborne guys on base had to make a jump to keep their Jump Pay.

Usually they asked the Air Force for transport. But the Air Force said that they were too busy.

So they asked The First Cav for rides in a CH47 Chinook.

The good thing was that the Jump Master was watching the first 10 guys closely as they jumped while hovering and saw that 5 or 6 of the chutes partially collapsed soon after they popped their chutes.

Somebody had forgotten to tell them about the Rotor backwash which collapsed the chutes.

These 6 guys re-qualified but the Quartermaster had to issue 6 new pairs of shorts!

A couple were hurt but no KIAs.

Two things...

First, I was Air Force. If there is nothing wrong with the aircraft we don't jump out.

Second, I had my wiper motor done by Robert Ficken. He did a great job. It was quite a few years ago, so I don't recall what it cost, but I remember that I thought it was reasonable at the time.

Good luck,

I faked the one on my 31 sport coupe. I painted it semi gloss black very nicely, hooked up a short piece of hose thru the windshield frame, and put my Rainex under the seat.

I was in the USAF as well, AS a Mechanic I tried to make sure no one had to jump out. I worked on both Jets and Piston engine aircraft.

Marv,
Next door neighbor worked on the Flight Line @ the Air Guard.
When I told him about the Roto-Rooter they used to clean out my PIPES, he sed, "Sounds like the one we use on the F-15s, to clean the IGNITER TUBE!
