Fan Hitting Radiator
Lately the fan blade on my '28 Briggs Body is kissing the bottom and driver side of the radiator. The front motor mount has been modified to accept the later style yoke per Service bulletins. It has a float a motor installed and a four blade fan. The fan at one time had to be tightened as was wobbling on the shaft. The fan is what came with the vehicle but the water pump was changed to the leakless style with stainless steel shaft when the engine rebuilt. The hood lines up good as there is no evidence of frame sag. Any ideas as to what can be causing this problem. Have been thinking of replacing the fan with the newer aluminum 2 blade.

Re: Fan Hitting Radiator
Did it clear after the new water pump was installed? If so something moved, radiator, fan blade, or engine. I would first check the fan blade very carefully for a bent blade look for any cracks or out of theplane of the other three blades. If the radiator is in the right plane [square] to the fan all ok, check driver side radiator bolt for breakage or movement ... If all of these are correct than check the rear motor mounts as they would drop the rear of engine down and possibly right or left depending on which one broke causing the fan to hit the radiator on an angle as discribbed... Re: Fan Hitting Radiator
Thanks for the things to check. Nothing seems to have moved, but will be ordering a new fan blade after checking everything. Did have to adjust the bolt for the fan once before due to fan wobbling on the shaft.
