Minimal wiring
This question is from a guy who’s mind goes blank and eyes roll back when confronted with wiring diagrams. Looking at the wiring diagram it would indicate a wire from drivers side of term block goes to the ammeter, then returns to the pass side of the block, so could I just go directly across to that post thus omitting the ammeter? I just want to get power into the system to see if his animal will run as it sits on the engine stand.

Re: Minimal wiring
The answer to your question is yes.
The ammeter sits between the two terminal studs on the fire wall connector. It is essentially a direct connection between the two studs. The ammeter has what is called a shunt that is a brass sheet of material that is a dead short between the two terminals. The shunt allows the lion share of the current to flow through it, but it is calibrated so that the voltage drop across it is read by the meter as the total amount of current passing through the meter. Hook a wire across the two terminals and it will eliminate the meter. Tom Endy so the very small amount of current passing through the meter movement will register as the total amount of current passing through the meter. |

Re: Minimal wiring
The model A is a good one to learn on. The only Fords that are more simple are the tractors with no headlights.
