Throw Out Bearing Removal
Hey All,
I tried searching for this information, but didn't find anything. First, is the throw out bearing pressed onto the collar? Is there a special tool to remove the bearing? Just use a two prong or three prong puller? |

Re: Throw Out Bearing Removal
Yes it is pressed on. Ideal way to take it off is with a hyd press.
Problem I see with a puller, is nothing to push against in the center. Unless you made an insert. |

Re: Throw Out Bearing Removal
That's my problem, I have no way to make an insert.
Anyone have problems with Bob Drake products? I bought a collar and bearing separately and they just slid together. Not even a tight fit. |

Yea, if you buy them, always get together as a set. Check with Van Pelts sales I'm sure he has them.
I'd return those ill fitting ones. |

Is this a throw out for a 1941 vehicle?

As Ralph set, send them back if they don't fit. |

Re: Throw Out Bearing Removal
The throw out bearing is a "loose" fit onto the hub.........except for the last roughly 0.100" of the hub. There is a slight shoulder there, where the bearing requires a light press fit to finish seating it to the hub. Beware of cheap Chinese TO bearings. Call Mac VanPelt for quality parts and service.
