Has anyone restored their dash knobs? How do you do it to get the small cracks out of them? I know you probably can buy new ones cheaper than doing it yourself , however mine are not really bad and would like to keep the original if possible. I found an article a few years back on the computer and it said use acetone but I have forgotten the rest and I did not run a copy. Thought perhaps some one could tell me. Thanks

Perhaps some PC7 epoxy to fill them after slightly Ving the cracks and cleaning with acetone.

Its gonna show if you fill them. Buy new ones,their not expensive. ken ct.

You can't fill the cracks but you can buff them on a cloth wheel. You have to be light on the wheel or they will get hot and melt the plastic. G.M.

As Vic Piano points out in an old thread, those plastic dash knobs are made of soybean plastic. They do deteriorate over time. I think one way to restore them might be to literally dip them in clear plastic resin (like you see on table tops) and then hang them out to dry. You may have to dip them several times to get a good clear coat that seals the plastic and fills in the imperfections. After the resin dries, sand smooth and paint with acrylic enamel or buff them to a shine to keep the "original old" look. Give it a try and let us know what happens.
