Default Woody 1933 rear bumper

The 33 did not come with a rear bumper. I would like to put one on. Is there a certain year i need to look for so it bolts right on or are the brackets going to have to be custom made?

Thank you,
Guy

Search on the Model "A" side of this forum or post your question there. I have seen many "A" pickups with rear mounted bumpers so someone should be able to give you some advice on how to mount it....never seen one on a Woody though......good luck!!

On my 34 PU I bolted two 1/12 thick flat strips to the side of the frame, welded a 4" channel iron to them, flat side out and bolted a stock set of 34 bumper brackets to the channel with the bumper. With the fab stuff painted black, it is not noticeable at all under the body.

I would start with a Bob Drakes catalog for the bumper and brackets. You will need to modify them because unlike coupe's and roadster's the '33 wagon body extends about 8" or so past the rear fenders. You will also have to drop the bumper to clear the tailgate when it is in the down position. I would use a '33/'34 bumper so it would match your front bumper. When you are done, please post some pictures.
