1925 pedal arrangement
My rebuilt transmission pedal arrangement after adjustment disappoints me. I expected the brake and clutch to have equal heights and the reverse pedal to be slightly proud of them, in other words, closer to the seat. None of my pedals are even with each other. To depress the reverse you have to fish for the pedal between the outside ones. Is this an indication that assembly of the tranny is wrong.
Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch...

Your Model T suppliers sell an extension for the reverse pedal.

Re: 1925 pedal arrangement
All 3 of the pedals on my '24 touring car are at different positions. I have the aluminum extension on the reverse pedal and it helps a lot. I also have clamp-on width extensions on the cutch and brake pedals. They seem to work pretty well.

A visual examination of the pedals and their cams at the base of the pedal is a good starting point before trying some extreme bending of the pedals. Remove floor boards and transmission inspection cover. The pedals should start to pull the corresponding correct band tight with about an inch of pedal travel. If it does not, look at base of the pedal. If you start to push the pedal and than pull outward. There should be very little movement before the cam starts moving the pedal toward the side which engages the band. Brake and reverse being on the outside of the cover and low forward being on the inside of the transmission cover. If the pedal moves more than two inches before it does any outward movement, it is Very Worn and needs repair or replacement. (you can actually see the space in the pedal cams on worn cams)(new or repaired cams fit snug with the pedal in the at rest position) If the pedal are not actually bend, the above repair puts them back in the correct position.
