Default H&C Ignition, distributor cap

Does someone have a photo or dimensions of the correct crab type dist cap to fit the H&C Ignition. I understand they are deeper than the stock cap, If you use the stock Ford cap, the rotor will hit, and possible break it. Also, are the rotors out there somewhere, either NOS, used or repopped ? Thanks Fordbarners.

The only difference is the hump from the center button to the coil socket is on the outside, rather than the inside. I hear Bob Drake had made them, but haven't looked in his catalogs.

The Bob Drake nose style cap seems to fit very well...

The Drake cap has been on back order since June, at least for me. Drake has an odd way for the record of orders to disappear from the computer, strangely if the original order was a free shipping. The subsequent order could be treated as a new order. Waiting for mine to proceed with my HC crab. I should check with them again. Good Luck: Fred A

They list that they work with H/C.

How about the H&C rotors, are they out there ? Would rather avoid Bob Drake if possible.

The original HC rotors are colored gold for a reason! Nothing new is available.

The NEW Drake crab caps will work on the stock crab distributors as well as the HC dual point, dual coil distributors. I have posted this here many times in the past year. This is not just hearsay, I have two of these new Drake caps and they do not have the inner molded hump that typically breaks the HC rotors, as the old crab caps would. I have not been able to find a good source for rotors new (NOS) or used at a realistic price.

*Edit: If you use the NEW Drake cap you must remember that the cylinder marking numbers are different than an HC cap, so you will need to remark some of the numbers on the Drake cap and wire it exactly like the original HC cap numbers.

Also, if you do a search for "Harmon Collins" you will find a lot of this information already posted with pictures.

So you need one without the bump inside, right?
