Default Finally Brought the Model A home today

Well I finally got the 1931 model A pickup home today. Yes, I did take the hood off as soon as it was in my drive way, i felt the need to showoff the little banger around town. Plans are to hop up the banger a bit and drive the tires off of it. Thanks for the warm welcome from my 1st intro post.

The smiles were great untill i forgot to turn the gas on and got stuck in the middle of a 6 lane (3 each way) intersection....still have a few things to remember on this old truck.

Thats the most fun part! I had to walk home one Hot Sunny afternoon here in Alabama, after trying to take the Wifey out to eat! She sat with the A while I was gone!

Good luck. Cuda 1. I am sure you will really find out by removing the hood the cab will be about 40 degrees cooler. The old timers would let the hood sides flap over the fenders to let the engine heat escape before hitting the fire wall.

In this 110 degree az heat, 40 degrees cooler will be very welcome.

it didn't work that way for me. if it is hot enough to open the windshield, you will find it RAISES the temperature in the cab by 40 degrees rather than lowering it.

took our Coupe out for a test drive in the Florida summer heat one day while the hood was off, it was so hot I had to close the windshield.....

It really is just a nice old truck, spent all afternoon doing a light shake down run around town. Nothing to serious, only noticed my brakes are out of adjustment a little, I have a very slight oil leak around the timing cover and my carb leaves a couple drips from the bowl gasket after you shut it off.

Duhha don't open the wind shield. I had mentioned the side curtains flapped open.
