The carb is a modern one used on powered industrial equipment (fork lifts and stuff).

A search on here will give you a lot of information on the carb.

Here is a start;

Thanks for the link. I had already been told that it was a Zenith tractor carb but I was unsure of its compatibility with the Model A. I am getting a 'normal' Zenith carb because I want the authenticity of the GAV but it's good to know that the current carb is a useful spare. So much to learn!

No complicated story, you have hit the nail on the head first time; I was born and brought up in the county of Cornwall in the far South West of England.

About that carb, I was wondering just what it was. If it's for a tractor, you may want to check if it's moving enough air for the displacement. Just a thought. We generally up grade with a later, Zenith mod. B (1932-1934) carb. with a 1.300 throat. A standard Mod A zenith carb has a 1.000 throat.

That's DOC MARTIN country, I want to go there
The upside down lever is NOT a bad thing, helps keep you from accidentally turning the lights OFF, with your FOREARM

IIRC Port Wenn is in Wales (Cymru)! I've been there (Wales) and it's all it appears to be. The spectacular tides. fishing boats grounded at low tides, a new set of scenery every two hundred yards you go down the roads. and nice friendly people (For the most part, anyway) I never met any Doc Martin types.

Doc Martin is set in the imaginary village of Portwenn in Cornwall. The filming is all done around the real Cornish town of Port Issac on the North (Atlantic) Cornwall coast. In real life the location is as idyllic as it appears on TV.
In real life the actor who plays Doc Martin (Martin Clunes) loves Cornwall and any Doc Martin fans might also be interested in his 2000 film Saving Grace as it was set and filmed in the same area.

We'll be based in Doumailhac in July. Taking a few days to drive down in my Dad's '29 Fordor. See that the Remparts Rally is only an hour away from prospective father in law's holiday home.

Have put him on standby for September

Looks good.

"... The cars that you see around and about from the 1920s and 1930s tend to be from French manufacturers but I expect that the Model A will be made welcome by the enthusiasts."

If you have any problems ... print off a copy of this spiffy certificate and stick it on the windscreen:

Should do the trick.
