Correct Fan Belt for 32
I am trying to find a fan Belt for my 32 V8. Now the Generator has to be very close to the intake. If it stick up to high it could brake the intake. So the Generator has to be down close to the intake. Do any of you know apart number that works? Ford say 51.2 inches. Any help I would appreciate.

Is THIS a great country, or what? It's gotta be a "GREAT" place to be when the "head-shed-in-charge" of one of the VERY BEST suppliers of specialty old car "stuff" aimed at a huge, American automobile hobby can personally call-back his valued customer(s) by their first name, within less than an hour, with a perfect answer, and at a ridiculously-reasonable cost to boot! Just a normal, laid-back day for Michael at 3rd Gen! DD |

Re: Correct Fan Belt for 32
Michael,
The 51.2" dimension that Ken refers to is the inside length of the original belt. The 53" inside length of your suggested replacement belt ought to work fine. I find with NOS belts that I have to remove one water pump and two of the three bolts on the other water pump to install the belt with the generator bottomed out on top of the intake manifold. The NOS belts have inevitably shrunk from their original size and even with some creative stretching, it is a challenging job to install them. However, in terms of originality, there is no comparable substitute for a NOS brown Ford and Firestone script fan belt. |

Like hunting for Hen's Teeth for a original one. When I had my 31, A 400 I show in MARC I had a original one. One for a 32 Is harder to come by I have found.
