Aha, okay. The starter button was originally on the floor between the brake and clutch pedals. Look for a hole down about here...

BTW Sweet addition to the fleet. Very sweet!

No need to censor your license plate mate.

It is virtually impossible for anybody to do anything with it.

LEO's discussed this at length on the Cadillac forum on FB.

Good luck with the car.

It is really nice.

I know why! Those three pans get in the way of so much maintenance on dizzy and steering column and it's wires for lights and horns, among others. Still, I put them on my cars to help cooling, which I'm convinced they do.

Same thing happens with the battery cover, they get chucked too.

Engine runs good it starts right up. I have a video my bud sent me when he got it running for the original owners. I have it parked in girlfriends garage till I can make room in mine and park it next to the 30 Tudor. I'll try to get a video tomorrow of it starting up and running

Great 36 delux cp! Looks original other than the hyd brakes and starter button. From what I can see it's in great shape. Check the gas tank for bad gas smell because if gas has gone bad in it and even been drained, it would still need to be acid cleaned.

thanks, the buddy I work with that was getting it road worthy for the original owners I believe did that. he replaced all the brake likes and parts, cleaned brake master cylinder. and got the engine running and rebuild the distributor and some other stuff. it runs and drives just needs some tlc before I want to put it on the road. I drove it home under 5miles

Happy for your great luck.
Yes I just checked it. Top left side had LB stamped in it thanks I will move the lines when I start getting it road ready

36- had stomp floor starters. If you have some upgrades to the early forties I wouldn't worry. Driving it for at least a yr under its current condition is a nice experience.

That's the plan, need to get new tires and tubes as they are all dry rotted, has couple leaks that need attention, wiring as most of it is exposed. Check brake drums as my bud that's was working on it for the original owners said they didn't have much meat on them. The paint will need attention as who ever painted it seems they didn't prep very well as it's cracking and bubbling and chipping off. I will have to move the seat back some aswell as I'm 6'4 to make it a little more comfortable but while retaining the stock look

I used some 1" x2" aluminum bar stock to raise up and back the seat to make it more comfortable to drive, worked well.

It's amazing how small this World is actually getting. I recently received a picture from a friend here in Maryland of her son's new to him 36 Ford 5w coupe, and as things turn out, some of the pictures are identical to those posted here.
So, mechman_22.... congratulations on owning one of Henry's finest....and a very beautiful example at that,.... I must say!

After awhile I get contacted about the car. I had one or two other buyers in front of me to purchase it. So after months of waiting and phone call after phone call the title was transferred and I have it home safe in the garage. it will need some love to get it completely road ready, but now on to what yall really want to see PICTURES!!!!!!!
Nice story as well as a beautiful example of a very nice Early Ford V-8!! It warms my heart to see some of these cars falling into the hands of young folks who will appreciate them the same way us older geezer's do.
