Default 1928 A -what should I look for?

Hi, I have a '30 Tudor. I am accompanying a newbee to look at a 1928 Leatherback. I know there are really early '28's where some parts are not available. We will get the chassis number to check that out. But I have two questions.

1) where is the chassis number on a 1928 Fordor?

2) Anything that I should be aware of or look for that I am not familiar with my '30?

Thanks gents

The bad news is that the chassis number is under the front drivers side corner of the body and requires lifting the body to read it. Model A's were originally identified with the serial number of the engine (which was the same as the chassis number originally). The engines were often replaced making this number questionable. Today most DMV.s will add their number to a plate that is riveted/glued to the door jam. Be sure that you can find a number on the vehicle that matches the title. This number bears no relation to when the car was built so it is not going to be any help. Take a lot of detailed pictures. Show the location of the emergency brake, the serial number on the engine, and the ends of the bumpers. Hopefully others will post what else to concentrate on in the pictures. Cell phone pictures are fine. If you don't know how to post pictures take them and someone will help you post them.
