Default Late 31 steel top pickup

Between the top and the two steel support ribs is what looks like a rope about 1/2" in dia. It looks original but is hard and want to replace it. calling different suppliers, no one knows what it is. Any ideas? Paul

There does not appear to be anything under mine but I'm sure there is at least some anti-rattle material there. A 1/2" rope is too big and nothing like it is used anywhere on the late '31.

Correct. Is is cotton rope. We used to call it sash rope. Used originally for the holding window weights in the homes that used sash weights. When I did our steel top CCPU, I was able to reuse the cotton sash rope that my CCPU came with.

Here are some shots of original anti-rattle rope from a Budd cab.

This was sent to me by John Charlton when I was restoring my truck and he gave me the unique top bows for the roof (Thanks again John!).
