Finish and process for new cast iron drums
I finally purchased rear cast iron brake drums for my 31 Tudor. What finish is appropriate to protect from rust and what preparation processes works best for cleaning, etc.?
What worked best for you? Thanks, Jim G. |

Re: Finish and process for new cast iron drums
Clean with laquer thinner or wax and oil remover for painting.
I use regular high gloss or medium gloss enamel spray can pAint on out side. You could use high temp engine enamel also if worried about heat. Also the shoul be turned to true the after they are installed on the hubs and the shoes should be arced to fit drums. John
