Default Engine Noise on Stand

Hi, I have a strange rattling sound on an engine that my friend and I have just gone thru. It is on a stand and starts fine and runs well except for a rattling noise on the lower oil pan. Doesn't change much with an increase in rpm. With a stetoscope, it appears to be coming from the lower pan. We removed the pan and checked the main and bearings and all looked well. We did notice that the baffle when we removed it has a slight bend to it when layed on a flat surface and was wondering if this could be the source of the noise. The oil pump looks very close to the pan as well but could not find any shiny areas when it looked like it was rubbing...Any ideas or suggestions wouls be appreciated..

How tightly is the dipper tray fitting the pan? When the tray is installed, check that there is no movement in the tray by pressing on the corners. Any visible movement could lead to a sound when running. The edges of the dipper tray are easily modified to align tightly.
Good Day!
