Default battery voltage reducer

Have got several 12 volt batteries (boat camper) I can temporarily use till my project is road worthy is there a voltage reducer I can use? Might be Awhile so really don't want to buy a 6 volt till it's ready.

What exactly do you want to do with the battery?

For temporary use. With the exception of the lights, and horn you only need a ballast resistor for the coil. The generator will charge the battery, the starter will run on 12 volts as well.

Figure out where the connecting strap is between the centre 2 cells and drive a big screw in there. Use either 1/2 for 6 volts.
