Light question
I have a 28 Tudor with single bulb headlights and no cowl lights (parking lights?) and L/H two bulb taillight. When switch is all the way left I get taillight, next position - all lights off, next low beam and last high beam. Is this correct? Stoplight works correctly.

Re: Light question
You should get tail light in the last two headlight positions

Re: Light question
No. If you have the correct light switch, you should have a two position switch with parking lights and tail lamp when turned to the left and headlights and tail lamp when turned to the right. There was no high beam lights in 1928. Originally they used a 3/21 candle power headlight bulb.

Re: Light question
In 1928 there was a three position switch, in 1929 and until the end it was a 4 position switch for the high and low beams.
It appears that you have a 4 position switch and are only using 3 of them. You should have regular, park, and off. The tail light should come on anytime the headlamp comes on. The second bulb (stop) is separate as you know. With the 4 position switch, with parking lights, (either in the headlight or cowl lights) the settings should be; High beam 4 o'clock, low beam 5 o'clock, off at 6 o'clock and parking at 7 o'clock. You don't have high beams. You could change the wiring to better simulate the original; in 1928 with its 3 position headlamp switch, 6 o'clock is off, one click left is parking, and one click right is driving beams. the far right would also be off.

Re: Light question
I agree that you have the wrong switch, sounds like a twolite switch.
The instructions below are for a twolite switch. Bob |

1. Straight down (6 o'clock) off 2. One notch right low beam 3. Two notches right high beam 4. All the way left parking lights What am I missing other than cowl lights (parking lights?). The tail light does come on in the all the way left position. John |

Re: Light question
I think what Gary was trying to say in post #3 was that you should have a tree position switch, left, center and right. Also your single bulb is parking and low not L/H.
In my '30 it is a four position switch like the one you have now. Since you have no front parking lights there is nothing to turn on. And yes, the taillights should work on all three positions on a four position switch. So yours is fine the way it is. |

Re: Light question
It's not a two position switch, Twolite is the name of the headlight that came out in 1929. See the link to Marco's site. http://www.abarnyard.com/workshop/focus-2a.htm
