My Daily Driver "Helen"... when it doesn't rain
I'm 35, my commute to work is 16 miles round trip. It's 57 degrees in Cincinnati today, and I am lucky enough that my company has a secured parking garage.
You better believe I drive her around during lunch too. She has been titled for 7 months.. and I have put 964 miles on her so far! Thanks to everyone contributing to this board. I've learned a lot already, and plan to learn more. This is a picture of her parked in the garage.

Nice! What kind of insurance are you carrying? If it's Antique Auto type coverage, and god forbid something bad happens on your commute, you may be left holding the bag, as most Antique Auto coverage doesn't allow for the car to be a daily driver.

I like! Black cars when shiny are nice. Apple green was my first choice, but went with yellow long story. Black wheels aren't for me, "A" IMO in a lttle color.

Re: My Daily Driver "Helen"... when it doesn't rain
Excellent! The floor looks way too clean under there. Just kidding.
A lot of people here will post that they wish they could do what you are doing, then come up with all sorts of excuses why they don't. The fact is, you don't just talk the talk, you actually take action and do it! Tip of the hat to you, my good man. These cars were meant to be driven every day. Everyone here on FB could DD their Model A if they had the guts like you. When I was using a Model A as a DD for a while, I came across a small group of SJW's that started giving me grief about how I was contributing to global warming, destruction of the planet, and whatnot by driving that 'gross polluter' etc. I told them it is a "smart car". The puzzled look was priceless. I told them that in the day of huge Deusenbergs, Rolls Royces, Lincolns, Packards, and others, the Model A was the equivalent of today's "smart car" and SAVED the planet! Their little Berkeley tunes change real quick. Try that if ever faced with a similar situation. |

Well, I just put my first 1,000 miles on her!
Yesterday I crossed the mileage marker... I have had her for 7 months.

Re: My Daily Driver "Helen"... when it doesn't rain
jwilliams.... you're doin' good! I've found that the more you drive any old car, the better they run. Hardest thing to do is just let them sit. And you have a VERY nice Model A congratulations.
We don't have to tell you to 'have fun' your smile says it all! I think it's great a young fellow like yourself has the Model A bug! |

Congrats on your first 1000. That takes some guys a few years to do that. Jeff
