40 Engine
Hey guys, I need a little information for a 40 221 Im working on.
Where would be the best place to get bearings and rings ? Also, the cam is flat, so Im looing for a good replacement cam and springs, Im thinking Isky stock grind, or close, and springs .. Also, can you put adjustable lifters under the early style mushroom tip valves ? Also, I don't see any markings or holes on the rods to indicate the direction they need to face, does it matter ? The pistons are the same way, they are Ford pistons, raised letter Ford on the side skirts on all pistons, but some where faced one way, the other half was faced the other way.. Thanks guys .. |

Re: 40 Engine
I might have bearings once you figuire out the size you need. Rods should be marked at the parting line . Should have like L1,L2 and so forth for the left bank and R1,R2 for right bank.

Re: 40 Engine
Max VP has all the rings and bearings you'll ever need. Forget the cam, there's nothing wrong with it or the springs and replacing it will cost 500 Bucks or more. Never make a modification with out a good reason.

Re: 40 Engine
Ron is right on about the cam. Don't just start making modifications without understanding all the other consequences of that modification. I know this from personal experiences.
