Default [email protected] nonsense email...

I do not know about the rest of you but I have been getting emails from [email protected] which tell me nothing just a bunch of nonsense wanting me to preview different sites.

Of coarse I delete this nonsense (I know of another word for it but will not use it here) but have any of you been getting this stuff?

I am afarid to answer!

If you are out there "modelakid31"...please delete me from your mailing list. I am not interested.

Thanks.

I got some of this stuff,ModelAkid knew nothing about it.He was hijacked.Somebody came here and hit a few keys, said this is simple, and cleared it right up.I had a guy calling demanding payment for his Harley that I bid on and won through ebay.Problem was that I have not dealt with ebay in over two years.Dropped paypal and all.I told ebay, not my problem,I never bid,or even looked. They actually tried to push me into paying.

Yes, I have been getting his solications as well. Some of the dating and porno sites are rediculous. What a waste!

Ditto on the advice above.
I've used spybot on the advice of my computer guru for years and found it's good free insurance.
Now a few weeks ago I had something nasty on my laptop at work which locked things up solid. I fixed it on advice from a young repair tech who happened to walk into my office (luckily) as I was pulling my hair out.
We managed to unlock things running spybot first. Next he got me to install a new program which he utilizes at his repair shop.
We went to http://download.cnet.com/windows/ and downloaded a free program called Malwarebytes.
Ran it complete on the system and it cleaned out some nasty stuff running in the background.
It speeded up my system here at home too.
Also he got me to download from the same site, one called Smartdefrag. I have all 3 of these programs on my desktop now, on both computers, and will try to remember to let them run occassionally if I'm away from the computer for a bit.
Note: each of the programs will try and lead you to PAY for something, yet on the same window they always give you the option to download a free copy.
Let it be clear that I strive to pay my share whenever possible...I don't suck free drinks...but I also avoid entering my financial data on the net at all costs.
I'm not the sharpest knife with computers, but these programs had simple instructions & worked for me.

Some of my children opened a page for me on Facebook and it was hijacked. After I received a few complaints from friends and relatives I had them cancel the page and all went away. Then I received some advertisements for Cialis and Viagra from a lady I know that is on the board of directors of her church. When I received the third one I asked her if she was doing it intentionally she said no and proceeded to tell me that one day the minister of her church stopped her after a board meeting and asked her why she was sending these same adds to him! She has since cancelled her Facebook page.

Thank you for everyone understanding. My site was hacked not my email. The site sends emails out labeled with my email address. Please don't block my email, I'm going to try to delete the site this afternoon and the emails should stop being sent to all of you. If they persist please let me know. Thank you.

Site has now been deleted permanently. So everyone shouldn't get any more spam emails.

Sorry to everyone who affected by this.

Modelakid31,

Not knowing exactly how they hacked into your site, I would suggest that you also change all of your passwords. For the site to send emails through your email account, it had to store your email password. If the site was compromised, the spammer could possibly still have your email password and could continue to send emails under your identity.

Thanks Mike. Like MCHinson said, start with your password. Not a big deal and hope you get it fixed.

A strong password change should do it.

It might be prudent for the recipients of the hacked emails to change their passwords as well.

Interesting Steve that you bring this up. I too found myself inundated with junk emails from this address - Yesterday i added him to my Spam list and banned him into cyberspace.
