Mystery Unholstery Panel
I ordered upholstery panels from Cartouche and I've got one I can't determine where it goes.... It's for a '29 Tudor. Any ideas?

Re: Mystery Unholstery Panel
It goes under one of the front seats. The hole is not authentic, but is there to let air in and out when someone sits on the seat.

OK, that would certainly fit the shape. Was I only given one of them on purpose? Doesn't matter, as I just got the seats upholstered locally....

Of course you should have 2 of them.

Re: Mystery Unholstery Panel
My I beg to differ? The panel in question is most likely the back pane of the upper seat back. It fits into a pocket and gives the rear of the back rest a stiff form fit. Originally, they had only one center hole to exhaust air from the seat back when someone sat and leaned back. You should have one for each of the front seat backs.

Re: Mystery Unholstery Panel
Interesting thought. I DID find the second one, so my mistake there. I held it to the bottom of my seats and it would fit with slight modifications. Since I just had the seats upholstered, there is no way to check if it fits the 'back', but I do remember a slot or pocket in the seat that I was curious about.....
Thanks all. |
