Re: Ben's auto wrecking yard in Calif.
Bert's in Denver has a small junk yard out back, maybe 1/2 acre, Walking through it, was like the old days when you could go into a yard. Now all you hear is "Our Insurance won't allow us to let anyone back there!" And this makes people happier? Just how?

Re: Ben's auto wrecking yard in Calif.
My parents and us kids lived next door to Ben and his family back in the 50's and early sixties in beautiful Burbank up on the hill. I remember Ben bringing home a 2 pound coffee can full of change from the coke machine every month or so for his wife and mom to have as 'play money'.
Ben sent a lot of parts to Argentina and received back 'rebuilt' tranny's etc. Ben was quite a big guy and was always nice as a neighbor. Made good hushpuppies and fried catfish he caught out of Hanson's Dam too. |

Re: Ben's auto wrecking yard in Calif.
In about 1960, My dad needed a carb for a 29 and took me with him from highland to cucamonga. in a tin covered bldg were a few model as being scavanged . I have asked over the years but haven't ran across anybody else that went there. No signage on the outside so was probably a private collection. Bob
