0HA head on the 6 cylinder could be a 50 box and motor or everything 50 but the cab?

I have done the same swap in my "47 Mercury 1/2 ton (which is the same as the Ford). It's really not too hard but there's a few things you need to know:

1. The water pumps in the 8BA car will not work. You need to put in truck water pumps
2. If the bolt pattern for the "6" transmission is the same as the V8, you need a "49-'51 Merc bell housing. to get the two to match up
3. Rebuild the radiator if you have it and have the radiator guy put in smaller inlets and outlets to match the outlets of the 8BA. Note the car radiator will not fit into the truck radiator frame.

If you need a 3 speed truck V8 for the '42-'47, I have one that available. Private email / text if you would like more detail info. Good luck!

Update found a tranny got a good deal on that with a radiator. Got it started and running this Thursday.

Next is some wiring in a couple switches and putting power back into the cab.

I will have to figure something different out for the foot feed everything is backwards the 6 cylinder had this teeter totter looking thing on it.

Didn’t get many pics but here’s one with me, my youngest(2) and his great grandpa that we got the truck from.

it was great to hear it run but best part was probably my 2 year olds excitement when it started.

You mentioned a car radiator, I don't believe it will fit in your truck as the height is different. At least it wouldn't work in my 1945 truck.

I'm glad to see you have it running, what was wrong? The 52 and up 6 cyl engine is an OHV engine and Might be interchangeable with the 50. Someone on the Barn may have more information on this swap.
