Matching paint with a scan is exactly like was described here. Here's a funny story. I was painting a '65 Corvette for a customer. I had a PPG "match" done is BC/CC. The owner wasn't needing original lacquer, this was a driver. So I painted the car with the "match" paint that was supplied. It actually was a Honda color When the car was done, a Corvette concours judge saw it and loved the color. He said it was the best representation of that color he had ever seen lol Honda color . . . . . . .

I prefer the recent color to the previous.

But in point of fact, in the 30's the preferred green apples were Newtown Pippins. Granny Smiths did not make the scene until the late 70's. Pippins still taste better and make the best pies by far. The public preferred the more " apple shaped" foreign invader to the flatish heritage apple.

My daughter when she was small, referred to Granny Smiths as 'Nanny Greens'
