NO, but thanks for the laugh.
Actually I have seen that before, but I don't recall where. |

I agree - ugly as is. But I could see it in a Disney parade with colorful paint and a red-jacket brass band in the back - maybe even Mickey waving out the passenger side and Donald hanging on the back. eBay listing says "It was imported into Argentina in 1930 as a hearse" but the rear fenders (and maybe bumpers) sure look like late-30s/40s. I picture it down in Orleans, with jazz musicians following on foot-shimmying through town slowly
for somebodies wake.... a festive occasion! |

Re: Anyone know what car this is?
What a waste of what was likely a nice car at one time. That's so ugly it would make a freight train take a dirt road. Rod

Re: Anyone know what car this is?
Looks like a hookah on wheels. Junk the body and keep the sheetmetal & chassis for something else.

Re: Anyone know what car this is?
I agree, it would work in a Disney parade with a different paint job.

Re: Anyone know what car this is?
I do not find it particularly attractive, and as another Barner wryly stated, "I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing!"...
However, it IS a period hearse body, and I believe it is largely comprised of hand-carved wood. Aesthetics aside, it is a significant example of a period "funeral car"... For some more pics of other ... interesting... period hearses, flower cars, etc, Google "professional car association" - or something like that... there is a group dedicated to the history and preservation of "professional" vehicles, as hearses & ambulances are sometimes called. Imagine something like this in white ? |
