Default Clutch

i just bought a 29 sedan that the clutch has a strong spring tension It is very hard to push in. I've never had one that took this much pressure to disengage. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Simple things first: are you sure the brake pedal isn't rubbing against the upper floorboard? Some poor reproductions and homemade floorboards have the opening slot for the brake pedal in the wrong location. That will cause the pedal to scrape against the wood and mimic a stiff clutch.
Also remove the clutch inspection cover and check the throw-out bearing's sliding operation. Not likely, but the collar could be hanging up on the transmission's snout due to lack of lubrication.
It is possible that the clutch installed was designed for some other heavier application, such as heavy equipment. If the mounting holes were compatible with a Model A, the clutch instantly became a Model A clutch from the parts store. Make sure you even have a Model A clutch. It could be someone converted to a heavy-duty V-8 clutch.
Lots of things to check before panicking.

Also lubricating the linkage and greasing the pedal may help!

Is this your first Model A?
Stiff compared to what?
The Model A has a stiffer clutch than any other car or truck I've owned.

No, I have two others, and have had others before this one. I'm 83, but still strong enough to disengage a Model a clutch.

back in the day, the pressure came with different color springs, the color indicated how heavy the pressure is. a friend bought a NOS pressure plate at Hershey and when he installed it, it was hard to push in. if my memory serves me good they were yellow springs. in the green bible they call out orange and green.

I seem to think that an AA pressure plate has stiffer springs than an A . Spring colour is an indicator but I cant recall what the different colours are . Certainly my 31 AA truck has a heavier clutch than my model As have .

John in getting colder Suffolk County Rngland .
