hello everybody....
i have a problem with the automatic choke, when i start the car the choke doesn't stopped, i must to push accelerator pedal many times to stop it....
anyone knows where come from the problem?

Your post isn't really clear about what's happening, but by you saying you have to push the accelerator pedal many time to stop it, sound like its hanging up on fast idle. Try spraying some penitrate on the linkage and working it by hand to free it up.

You have the two bbl, 1-1/16 inch venturi carb, a Holley 2110. They are peculiar to the '56 model only and all had the automatic choke.
Things to check:
Look to see if linkage rod from choke lever that connects to fast idle cam has become disconnected at one end. I believe it is held in place by small wire-clip.
Inspect the condition of the copper heat tube and its connections for looseness or corrosion. The heat tube has a cloth jacket which can be pulled up or down to inspect the tube. Tube is located on driver side just below the automatic choke assembly.
Is the automatic choke adjustment correct? If you have a instruction sheet from a rebuild kit, that will tell you how to adjust choke. Also a 1956 Ford car shop manual has an abundance of rebuild and adjustment instructions for all the carbs offered that year. I highly recommend getting one.

The spiral spring in the thermostat housing may be broken? (photo #2)

If the heat tube and internal choke thermostat piston mechanism is clogged with exhaust debris it will not work correctly. (photo 2 & 3) Check for lack of carbon build-up and proper movement.

Anybody else notice from his photo that the gas pedal bellcrank is missing off the back of his intake manifold ??? I guess someone has rigged something else rigged up there that makes it work ???
I hope he has a 3-spd manual transmission, because if it is a Ford-O-Matic, it certainly will not work right without the bellcrank which has connection for the passing gear link.

another thing to try is to loosen the 3 screws around the black piece then turn the black piece to the right this will remove the spring pressure.be careul with the screws as the different metals can cause them to seize if a problem you can replace with sheet metal screws.(short ones)of course
