Default Where are all the 1937 Ford's?

It seems odd to me that there seem to be very few '37 Ford's for sale on the usual websites. I have been studying up on the '37 for when the time comes to add an early Ford to the family. Ford made 848,608 in the US alone. There were under about 532,000 '39's made and around 599,000 40's made. '39's and '40's seem relatively easy to come by but not the '37.
Anyone have any insight on this? Do collectors have them all? Are they preserved and stashed away more than other years?

Here is one on the FordBarn Swap:

It took me a few months to find my black 1937 DeLuxe Fordor; I wanted the Touring model like my father had but I am happy with the slantback. Here is a photo.

Many ended life on the stock car track. More or less than other years? Who knows.

There's a nice 37 club coupe on e-Bay right now. Looks like a nice car.

I raced modified hardtops in Michigan and Ohio 1953 to 1962. They were also know as "hot rod races" depending on the promotor such a Motor City Speedway in Detroit Mi.

They were lighter than the 38 and 39's, and there were plenty of them in junk and scrap yards. We bought most of ours in the Windsor Ontario Canada area, they were not rusted out, no salt on the streets.

The 37 was one of the best built Ford's of the 30's and definately made a superior round track car. In addition, many got a bad rap over the 60's that were in them and because of that and cable brakes went to the scrap yards. I own two and hunted for years before I found them in decent shape. The 38's are even more scarce.

They were probably scrapped because they didn't have any brakes. I hatted those cable brakes when I was a kid. I'd like to have one now tho. Walt

This is right. I raced, and destroyed, a 37 fordor humpback. Bought it for $6, when it was demolished I sold the engine and trans for $20.

A disproportionate share of the 1930's vintage jalopies in the local races across the country were 1937 Fords - especially coupes. Look at the photos from the 1949 - 1959 jalopy races and you'll come to that conclusion too. 1937 and 1938 Fords were not as well appreciated as other years by collectors/restorers, and yet they were perfect fodder for stock car races/roundy-rounds. I found an unmolested coupe, and feel quite lucky. Finding a right rear fender for it in my neck of the woods hasn't been easy though (for the reason stated above). Anybody got one?

This is interesting. I've had 32's, Model A's (have one now), a 40, and a 37. To me the 37 was "ugly". Now this was 40-50 yrs ago. The supply of 39-40's drying up or have already been built and not for sale. About 10-15 yrs ago 37's seem to start coming out of the woodwork and violla now to me they are "attractive". But as others have stated a lot were used up in roundy-round action.
Sorry for the rambling.
