Does anybody know the thickness of 1/4 window glass on a 47 ford convertible. The channel looks thicker than normal glass thanks

The quarter glass, as well as the door glass, has a chrome frame around it on 46-48 conv's.

My experience is the newer glass is thinner than the original, at least it was when I purchased mine. Whether 1/4" glass is available in a local situation as compared to a antique auto co. I don't know. Thinner glass will work by changing the glass bedding material to better match the new glass. Should be available at most auto glass shops.

Modern tempered glass isn't as thick as the old laminated safety glass as a general rule but with the right glass bedding stip, a person can usually make things fit if the difference in thickness is not too great.
