National meet Dearborn

Hey is anybody going to the national meet in Dearborn and what kind of car are you bringing ?

I'll be there. Tuesday I'm running a seminar. As to whether the wife makes it there in her 31 roadster is ???

Headlamp Seminar

TUESDAY 11:00 AM

This is NOT a “what the Judging Standards say” presentation!

We are going to look at:
* History.
*Laws and Regulations.
* Who was W.T. Fishleigh?
* Who engineered the lenses.
* Headlamp Patents- who created and owned them.
* What the judging standards don’t know (and probably never should)!
* Variances no one ever notices.
* Differences in Ford headlamp alignment layouts and why.
* A little demo of how out of focus lights look brighter and fool everybody.
* Modern problems with your Model “A” headlights.
* Non-Ford lenses.
* Skew, beam, and useful light.
* A laser beam accuracy demonstration of both original and replacement reflectors.
* Lots of lamp glass to look at so you can see it all up close.

Some real bulb and lamp assembly testing metrics to dispel testimonials.
* Ulbricht sphere testing of a lamp and isotropic output rating in lumens.
* What beam patterns from other manufacturers looked like in the 20’s.
* Ten different headlamps will be projected with laser reference
- 2 Halogen, 3 Conventional, 5 LED. You be the judge!

You will leave with a comprehensive handout covering the

performance of many lamps, conventional, halogen, and LED.

Yes. We are now in the large conference room.

Easiest would be to call M.A.R.C. @ (734) 427-9050.
Have the registration confirmation number they sent you handy.

You could also add it when you pick up your registration materials, but that may be a big mob scene on Sunday and Monday!

I stopped by the hotel on Sunday to pick up a radiator from Berg on my way back to Ohio.

Mike's setup in the hall there was the one thing that made me wish I could stay for Tuesday. It was clear that the presentation will be full of both preparation and passion.
