Default 1931 Slant Windshield Fordor Firewall

I’ve admired 1931 Slant Windshield Fordors for a while. If I recall correctly, they were supposed to have less wood in them than the visor Fordors. It seems that all the slant windshield Fordors I recall have had an indented firewall.

Do *all* slant windshield Fordors have an indented firewall?

There were non-indented slants….but not many. I’ve seen a very few that had wood sills. Again, not many.
Imho the slant fordors were the best of the model a line. Of course they had 4 years of refinements and ford was thinking 32

They definitely had less wood than the straight window ones. Years ago I was looking for one and ended up finding a 4 door Model B. Very similar.

While the Slant Windows Fordors have all the 'modern' upgrades, it seems every time I see one it makes me think something is missing? The treatment about the windshield just looks odd (to me).

The change to the indented firewall was in May 1931.

No.

Slant windshield Fordor was introduced in March but the indented firewall didn't appear until May.

The slant windshield first appeared on the 190A Victoria late in 1930. The Victoria is the pioneer Ford for many 1931 features including the 1931 style radiator shell and recessed doors.

Shew - I’m late to this party, as usual, but to answer the original question: no, not all slant windshields had indented firewall. Mine doesn’t.

It does have a wooden header across the top of the windshield.
